1. Property Sales
Jefferson County is the fastest growing county in West Virginia. Here are the latest figures (April 2003)
*Average List Price for Sold Properties is $ 204,120, up 28% from last year
*Total Units sold, is 49, down from 55 for same period last year
*Average days on market is 100, up from 76 last year.
2. Planning
The Jefferson County Commission published the new draft Comprehensive Plan in May 2003, it is available at http://170.215.149.18/planzonecompplan.html . Some of the more interesting highlights regarding property include:
New 911 Maps are now available for the County. These are produced by Explorer Maps and available at visitor centers and local stores.
3. Family Matters
Jefferson County is a great place for kids. Summer is fast coming up, and it’s time to organize activities for your children. Jefferson Park and Recreation have a wonderful program up and ready. 6. Developer’s Corner
Jefferson County Planning Commission unveiled their new Impact Fee proposal . Under the new plan all applications for new home developments will be charged a fee of over $8,000. This will raise over $4 million for the County each year. Much of this will go towards paying for new infrastructure, recreational facilities and school improvements. The Commission expects the new Fee to be in place some time in 2004.
